Well I'm hoping we've turned the corner now with the recession having had such a bad effect on ticket sales of late, becasue my last gig actually SOLD OUT!

A cracking night of Blues Rock from one of the North East's greatest bands - Erik & The Vikings. Not only that the support act, young Darlington band Caliber, played out of their skins and delivered an amazing set of of Bonamassa, SRV, Hendrix, and Gary Moore to name but a few.

I'm hoping for a bright future for these guys, they deserve it becasue they are a bunch of really nice lads - although thats not really Rock 'n' Roll I guess!

On Friday 15th October Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash will be returning to Darlington Arts Centre for a night of twin-guitar Classic Rock.

There are only a few British rock band that have stood the test of time, and with Wishbone Ash just celebrating their 40th Anniversary, Martin is convinced that just like in real life - the bands life begins at 40!

They have just started their year-long tour of Europe, calling the tour, "Life Begins"

Expect to hear early Wishbone numbers from their classic albums "Pilgrimage", "Argus" and "There's the Rub"

Some of my regular patrons have expressed to me that they enjoyed the RetroGenesis gig I co-promoted last September at The Forum and have asked if I can arrange another gig for them.

Well I have! This time though, it will be held at Darlington Arts Centre and the date will be Friday 26th November.

Expect another spectacular gig from this great tribute band, who put on a fantastic show-piece of early Genesis music when Peter Gabriel lead the band.

I am also arranging a series of gigs for my good friends The Smokin' Spitfires, who are set to make a most welcome return to their "spiritual home" - The Travellers Rest in Cockerton, Darlingtom.

It's been 5 years since they last played there, but with a new landlord who is very keen to return the pub to a live venue, the Spitfires are looking to recapture some of those magical nights from the bands early days, when they were practically the "resident" band.

Dates already arranged are all Friday's - 28th May, 6th August and 29th October.

They will also be releasing their 5th cd later in the year at their Christmas Party which will double-up to be the release night of the cd on Thursday 30th December at Darlington Arts Centre.

Tickets are now on sale for all these events, please make sure you phone the right Box Office for the gig you want to attend!
